HEARTMission Statement
The mission of the Humane Evacuation Animal Rescue Team (HEART) is to provide assistance in times of emergency/disasters, whether man-made or natural, rescuing animals, setting up and operating emergency animal shelters when requested by the appropriate authority having jurisdiction.
The Humane Evacuation Animal Rescue Team thanks the community for all the amazing donations and support given in so many ways during the evacuation and shelter of hundreds of displaced animals in the Spokane fire disaster.

All the animals have now left the HEART shelter at the Spokane County Fairgrounds as of last Saturday, including sweet Wasabi, the Emu.

HEART is composed entirely of volunteers and is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit operated organization.
