Thank you for your interest in volunteering with HEART. We are always in need of help. We have opportunities working directly with animals, fundraising and logistics. Whatever your passion, we have a place for you!
Volunteer Requirements:
HEART has two types of membership - Tier 1 & Tier 2
Tier 1 (active) involves working directly with animals during a deployment.

Tier 2 is non-animal handling and home-based. Examples include: Fundraising, Volunteer Coordinating, Social Media maintenance, etc. ONLY STEPS 1-3 found below are required for this type of position.

Step 1: Volunteer application (Tier 1 and 2)

The first step is filling out the HEART Volunteer Application here. ​

Step 2: SCEM Volunteer Application and Requirements (Tier 1 and 2)
​

The next step is filling out the Spokane County Emergency Management application.
​
Required SCEM Classes:

First Aid/CPR/AED - Certification must be renewed every two years. You may be certified through SCEM or any other agency such as the American Red Cross who is licensed.

Blood-Borne Pathogens - Free online training recommended.

Step 3: Introduction to ICS Video (Tier 1 ONLY). Please email spokaneheartvolunteers@gmail.com when this step is complete.
